By means of vector superposition,the wave height of superposed wave systems travelling in different directions is defined.The distribution and its expected value and variance with a(the angle included between two travelling waves) and P(ratio of mean wave heights of two travelling waves) as parameters are derived.The results conform with reality to some extent in that wares are formed from superposition of different wave systems.
